My name is Perla Grisham, I am a student at Laguna College of Art & Design (LCAD) and an animation major.

I have loved art my whole life and never thought that there could be a career in the arts so I always did it more of a hobby. I loved doing portraits.

When my Grandfather passed away some years back I decided to honor him in the only way I knew how, and that was to draw him. I didn’t want to do a traditional portrait, I wanted to portray him as the funny human being he was so I did a cartoon. This, ladies and gentlemen, blew my mind when I realized I could bring him back to life (so to speak) with animation. Suddenly I realized that people have jobs doing this, being animators and making cartoons. That is when I knew, this is what I have been looking for my whole life.

I love learning new techniques and new ways to better my craft. LCAD has been the best place for my art to grow and I hope when I graduate that I can find a good spot in a studio where I can continue to grow and learn.
